How to take readings correctly
Most water meters have eight windows, five of them with black numbers. In the three right-hand windows the numbers are colored red.
The black numbers show the cubic meters of water used. They are what we need. The red numbers are liters of water used. When the value reaches 999 liters plus one more liter, the red part of the water meter is reset to zero, and a unit is added to the cubic meters section.
To obtain information about water consumption, you need to take readings from the black windows. If there are more than 500 liters in the red windows, then you need to round up - add one to the readings.

Water consumption rates: advantages of metering
After installing metering devices, although the actual consumption will remain the same, the cost of water can be halved. But there are categories of citizens for whom control over water supply is not beneficial. This applies to people who are not registered in the apartment, but live there and use all the utilities provided. When calculating payments, they are not taken into account, and the resources used are divided among all residents of an apartment building, which makes general house expenses much more expensive.
Also, careless residents, using various devices, which is fraud, reduce their water bills. The burden of payments falls on other apartment owners who honestly pay utility bills. How to submit testimony
The contract with the management company or water utility must indicate the date by which the water meter readings must be submitted. It is important not to be late so that utility workers can generate the correct receipt.

- Via SMS;
- On the website of the water utility or management company;
- Through the State Services website.
If you don’t submit your readings on time, then in six months you will be transferred to another form of payment - standard (and not by meters), and you will have to pay much more.

The amount of payment for cold water supply for your apartment will be calculated as follows:
8 m3 x 26.32 rub. = 210.56 rubles
The total fee for cold water supply in your apartment will be 210.56 rubles.
Calculation No. 2 - the amount of payment for cold water supply in the absence of an individual meter for cold water; there is no technical possibility of installing such a device.
Calculation of the amount of payment for cold water supply in a residential premises (apartment) that is not equipped with an individual meter for cold water, and in the absence of the technical ability to install such a meter, is made according to formula No. 4 of Appendix No. 2 of the Rules.
