Vacation for teachers

First of all, it should be said about lower requirements for working time, as well as longer vacations. One rate is a working week of 18 hours. In turn, this is exactly half as much as other specialists. A teacher can also work part-time in the same field. If we talk about vacation, it is equal to up to 60 calendar days.

But teachers who work in the city for 10 years without going on vacation can take a vacation for as much as 365 days once every 10 years. Moreover, such an employee also retains his place of work. According to the rules that were established by this institution, vacation pay is given.

When can a rural teacher retire?

Initially, it is important to determine exactly when a teacher working in a village has the opportunity to retire. Therefore, pensions are often received by people who are not even 45 years old, but they must begin working in their specialty immediately after graduating from a higher educational institution. Young teachers can also count on benefits. A young teacher has the right to receive cash benefits in three cases. If the employee came to work immediately after completing his studies, if the young specialist graduated from the institute with honors and if, during the preparation of the employment contract, the young teacher undertakes to work for more than three years in this educational institution.

When young teachers come to work in the city, they do not have to undergo an entrance test or any other unpaid internship. And if a young teacher wants to take out a mortgage loan, he is given a benefit to reduce the annual interest rate.

It should also be said that housing subsidies can be given to city teachers if he provides facts that prove poor living conditions. Those teachers who have retired may still receive utility benefit benefits even after their working career ends. As for free travel, it is issued exclusively to those teachers who work in rural areas. But benefits do not apply to city teachers.

Benefits for young rural teachers and retired teachers in 2020

Benefits for teachers in rural areas in 2021 are a kind of government campaign to attract young teachers to villages to work in schools. In order to interest graduates of pedagogical universities, the Russian government launched a program to provide social assistance to this category of citizens.

In 2021, young rural teachers are provided with the following types of labor benefits:

  1. Increased paid leave. It is provided once a year, usually during school holidays. The duration of vacation for teachers ranges from 42 to 56 days. In cases where a rural teacher, for certain reasons, has worked for 10 years without vacation, he has the right to rest throughout the year.   2. Shortening the work week. Teachers with benefits must work 18 hours instead of a 36-hour work week. Moreover, such a shortened working week is not considered a violation of Labor legislation in the case where the teacher falls into the category of beneficiaries.
  3. Possibility to work part-time. This means that a person who has the profession of a teacher can teach classes in several different subjects in one school, and will receive a higher salary.
  4. Early retirement. Teachers in rural areas have the right to retire after 25 years of work in the field of education, but only under one mandatory condition - teaching activity must be continuous.

25 years of service does not include periods when:

  • due to the fault of the teacher, there was downtime at work;
  • the teacher was suspended from teaching due to his own fault;
  • The teacher went on maternity or child care leave.

Teaching experience necessarily includes periods of advanced training, training, temporary disability due to illness, subject to the provision of a medical certificate, and annual paid leave. You should know that no one has the right to remove a teacher who has worked at school for 25 years and still has a desire to continue working, in the absence of health problems. In the case when a teacher continues to teach children at school, and already has 25 years of work experience, in addition to salary, he also receives a pension.

Utility benefits for rural teachers in 2021 are another mandatory type of social support provided by the state. Teachers working in rural schools receive full compensation for the following expenses:

  1. Payment for heating the premises in which the teacher lives. Compensation is calculated based on the meter readings, but if there is none in the house, then the current consumption rate is taken into account.
  2. Electricity costs. Compensation is paid according to consumption standards calculated per 1 sq.m.
  3. The cost of purchasing firewood or coal if a house in a rural area is heated in this way.

This social assistance is also provided as benefits to retired rural teachers in 2021.

To attract young specialists to work in rural schools, the following privileges are used:

  1. A one-time cash payment of 5-10 salaries. The state assumes that these payments will be used by the young specialist to arrange new housing.
  2. "Increasing salary." A young worker has the opportunity to increase his income if he performs well in his professional activities immediately after starting a new job. In this case, his monthly salary rises by 5-10% for 3 years. The decision on such encouragement is made by the school director and rural higher pedagogical structures.
  3. Additional privileges. Teachers can also receive salary increases for class management, extracurricular activities, work in special classes, and preparing children for Olympiads.

What will teacher salaries depend on in 2021?

The total salary of education workers can contain two components. The first is the minimum wage, which depends on the qualification level of the teacher. The second is some kind of incentive payments. They are also called overcompensation or simply additional salaries. If we talk about additional payments, they can be issued in the following form:

— for the operating mode;

- for the position of class teacher;

— additional financial assistance;

— chemistry teachers are paid compensation for working in hazardous conditions;

- for additional work in specialized classes.

Teachers who teach several disciplines at once may also have their salaries recalculated due to additional hours. The amount of the total salary, all types of payments, as well as the conditions for its increase are written in the employment contract. The calculation is made directly by the management of the institution. If the salaries of teachers are calculated incorrectly, for example, the salary is understated or unreasonably overstated, then the head of the educational institution will have to bear responsibility.
